Rev. Jody Bryant is the Senior Pastor at Elam Baptist Church. He is a native of Virginia but moved to Georgia in 2016 to pastor Elam. He and His wife Ginger have two sons, Caleb and Elijah and one daughter, Delilah Grace. Pastor Jody has earned a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.
Rev. John Paul Hearn is the Youth and Children’s Pastor at Elam. He has been serving in this position since 1999. He and His wife Renee have two daughters, Taylor and Anna Kate. Pastor John-Paul has earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education from Georgia Southern University, a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership, both from Georgia Southern University.
Mrs. Sylvia Gay is the worship leader at Elam. She has been serving in this position since August 2019. Sylvia and her husband Charlie have four children, Amber, Blake, Austin and Jeremy along with four grandchildren, Hudson, Brenna, Addie Grace, and Charleigh Rose. Mrs. Sylvia earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Columbus States University, a Master of Education in Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University and an Educational Specialist in Teaching and Learning from Georgia Southern University.
Mrs. Dorothy Gay is the Church Secretary at Elam. She is a native of Oklahoma where she was saved and baptized in 1949 at Trinity Baptist Church in El Reno, Oklahoma. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma. She retired in 1988 after thirty-four years from teaching business education and coaching girls’ softball and became the church secretary at Elam in 1995.
Janna Gay Tucker is a native of Twin City, GA and after attending college at UGA where she met her husband Brett Tucker, they moved to Johns Creek, Ga. They were there for nine years before returning back to their South Georgia roots in 2017. They have three children, Audrey, and twins, Elizabeth and Bo.
Janna started playing piano by ear at a young age of five and has taken about ten years of piano lessons from accomplished teachers. She started playing piano at Twin City United Methodist Church around the age of 12. She and her family then moved to Hawhammock Baptist Church where she played until she graduated high school. She has won several talent competitions and performed in front of thousands. She takes most joy in helping others join her in worshiping our Lord and Savior through song.
